Inner Knowing Explorer: Discovering How You Know What You Know

This exercise helps you explore the subtle differences between how you remember the past and imagine the future. Your brain uses specific sensory qualities—called submodalities—to distinguish between memories of what happened and visions of what will happen. By becoming aware of these patterns, you gain insight into your inner knowing and can enhance both memory recall and future planning.

Step 1 of 6

Select Two Memories

Take a moment to think of two distinct experiences: 1) A certain past memory - something you absolutely know happened (like your breakfast this morning), and 2) A future imagination - something you plan or hope will happen (like an upcoming event).

Step 2 of 6

Visual Submodalities

Close your eyes and recall each memory. Notice the visual qualities of each mental image.

Step 3 of 6

Auditory Submodalities

Now focus on any sounds or internal dialogue associated with each memory.

Step 4 of 6

Kinesthetic Submodalities

Notice the physical sensations and emotions connected to each memory.

Step 5 of 6

Timeline Orientation

Notice how your mind organizes time spatially.

Step 6 of 6

Certainty Coding

Your brain has a way of 'knowing' what's real vs. imagined. Let's discover your certainty code.
